A Look At The Rebuilding Effort That George Secker Led In The Philippines

Nonito Donaire is a former world boxing champion from the Philippines. A typhoon had destroyed over 100 homes in the cities of Capinahan, Iloilo, and Lemery. Donaire returned from Las Vegas, Nevada, to his home country so that he could join Greg Secker, an English philanthropist, in giving new homes to the people who had lost theirs. Nonito Donaire said that it was very important that professional athletes such as himself make a positive difference in people’s lives who needed help.

Greg Secker had invited Nonito Donaire to fly to Manila so that he could be one of the witnesses of the new homeowners entering their homes for the first time. Secker had picked him and his wife up from Manila Airport for this quick trip which concluded the next evening. Donaire encouraged other athletes to use their voices to inspire others and do good in the community.

It was in 2009 that Nonito Donaire had donated P1 million to help those whose homes had been destroyed by Typhoon Ondoy. He donated the money to the George Secker Foundation which had organized the rebuilding effort. He said he would like to build another 1,000 homes in the Philippines so that people could have homes to live in.

Greg Secker founded the Greg Secker Foundation as the philanthropic arm of the companies he founded. He is an entrepreneur who teaches people the strategies they need to follow to make money trading currencies. He is also a published author and a public speaker who has spoken to conferences around the world. His effort to rebuild homes in Lemery, Philippines was given the name Greg Secker Foundation Village.

The three firms that he owns are Learn to Trade, Capital Index, and SmarthCharts Software. These are the tools and strategies that average investors can use to attain financial independence. He teaches participants of his two-day courses the ins and outs that he learned while he was a top executive on Wall Street in the United States. He took that knowledge back with him when he decided to move back to the United Kingdom several years ago.
